Parents - You can upload photos but keep these ideas in mind:
Some families will have 30-40 pictures of their kids, often of a boat in the distance where, if looking for that rower, you might be able to identify that rower, but otherwise a photo that looks like a thousand other boats several hundred yards away. We are not looking for necessarily the next Pulitzer Price for Photography, but some action scenes, sometimes the mundane of rowing but depicts the memories that kids will recall of rowing-- maybe starting with a full trailer, then another of the lower layer off, the next layer, etc with gangly armed kids passing down boats (or which we have not a single photo over all of these years), or maybe the trailer on the highway (none), or a parent's meeting, or a line of boats waiting to get on the dock, or kids standing in line to get fed, or a kid tightening his oarlock before the race, or even a long line at a porta-pottie at Gov Cup (never enough there), or a group of rowers looking at the results board, or the long line of cars parked along Sunbury, or even a bus unloading, or all the trailers being packed up at the end of the regatta, or the kids picking up trash (all in a line, combing the grounds), etc, etc. What we tend to get is lots of boats way out there showing a single shell being rowed hard, but little evidence that there may be other boats even in the event. For example, in Dayton, it would have been cool to have some photos of a boat coming at us on the footbridge, and then another of that boat going away, or from the side of all those parents cheering on the bridge.
NOTE: Your photos will be monitored and please keep the number of photos to a minimum so we don't take up too much storage space on the web site. If this gets out of control, photos will be removed. To report inappropriate content, send us an email: crewadmin@westervillecrew.org
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding and be sure to give the photos a caption!
